Hi Jorge,
Thanks for reaching out. If you’re seeing water coming in on both the
driver and passenger doors of your 2017 JK hardtop, that lines up with a
very common issue and comes down to the way these vehicles are designed.
Unlike every other vehicle on the road today that has a dedicated body-side
seal, the Wrangler does not. Because of that, the door seals are left
trying to press directly against painted metal instead of a proper rubber
sealing surface. When this happens on both sides, it’s not a
coincidence—it’s the same design limitation affecting both doors.
Over time, that inconsistent sealing surface allows water to make its way
in, usually from the upper door area and down onto the floors. Even though
it may seem like a seal failure, the seals themselves are typically doing
the best they can with the surface they’re given.
The most effective solution is to add a vehicle-specific leak fix kit that
creates that missing body-side sealing surface. Once installed, it gives
both door seals a consistent surface to compress against and resolves the
water intrusion issue.
Below is a link to the leak fix kit that will solve your issues.
If you have any additional questions, please respond to this email or you
can call me directly to further discuss this matter.
Best regards,
