Short answer
A drip in the middle or top of your door is the classic Wrangler leak. The door seal is fine — the problem is there's no matching seal on the body for it to press against. Water finds that gap and runs down. That's why replacing the door seal alone doesn't work.
Why doors leak even with new seals
Two surfaces make a watertight seal: one on the door, one on the body. Jeep installs only the door side. So no matter how new your door seal is, it's pressing against bare body with a gap — and water takes the gap.
Where the water enters
- The top of the door, near the A-pillar — most common
- The mid-door line — the classic drip onto the seat or floor
- The lower rear corner — on 4-doors especially
The fix
Confirm the door closes flush, then add the body-side weatherstripping Jeep left off. Now the door seal compresses against a real surface and the gap is closed — for good.
