2022 Jeep Gladiator 4-Door Hardtop Leaking at Passenger Door — Expert Fix

Quick answer: A 2022 Jeep Gladiator 4-Door Hardtop leaking at the Passenger Door in Heavy Rain is almost never a bad door seal - it is the missing body-side weatherstripping Jeep left off the body, so the door seal has nothing to compress against. The permanent fix is adding body-side weatherstripping for the Gladiator; most owners install it themselves in under an hour with no special tools.

Hi Ami,

Thanks for reaching out.

Based on what you're describing — a 2022 Gladiator Sport with water showing
up on the passenger floorboard after heavy rain, and no indication that
it's coming from under the dash — this sounds very likely to be coming
through the passenger door sealing area.

The issue with the factory design is that the door weatherstripping is
trying to seal directly against the bare body metal of the Jeep. Unlike
virtually every other modern vehicle on the road, Wranglers and Gladiators
don't have a continuous body-side weatherstrip for the door to seal against.

During heavy rain, water can get past that seal and work its way down onto
the floorboard. That's why the point where you find the water isn't always
the point where it actually entered.

For your 2022 Gladiator, I would recommend our Gladiator Leak Fix Kit,
which is specifically designed to address this problem by giving the
factory door weatherstripping a proper sealing surface to compress against.

You can reserve the Gladiator kit here:

Once installed, the door has a much better seal against the body, helping
keep rainwater where it belongs — outside the Jeep.
