Hello George,
Thanks for the detailed explanation—that symptom lines up exactly with what
we typically see on the 2025 Gladiator in heavy rain or high-pressure
brushless car washes.
When water is coming down from the top edge near your shoulder, it is
usually being forced past the upper door frame and then traveling
internally before dropping into the cabin. That’s why it can show up in
different areas even though the entry point is actually higher up.
What’s important to understand is that Wranglers and Gladiators are built
differently than most modern vehicles. They are one of the only vehicles on
the road today that do not use a full body-side or inner weather stripping
system like a traditional sealed cabin design. Instead, the sealing system
relies heavily on the door-mounted seals working against bare metal
surfaces on the body.
Those door-side seals are essentially doing their best to seal against
painted metal with no secondary inner gasket system backing them up like
you would find in most other vehicles. Under normal driving conditions they
do a decent job, but when you introduce heavy rain or brushless car wash
pressure, water can overcome that single-layer seal design and find its way
in.
Because of that, the root cause of what you’re experiencing is not a
damaged seal, but the limitations of the factory sealing design itself.
In situations like this, the most effective solution is adding a
vehicle-specific weatherstripping specifically designed for Wranglers and
Gladiators. This creates the missing sealing layer and helps properly block
water from entering the cabin.
Below is a link to the leak fix weatherstripping I use to solve this issue
permanently.
