Hi Ryan,
Thanks for reaching out. The leak you’re seeing on the driver side of your
2014 JK is a very common issue, and it really comes down to the way these
vehicles are designed.
Unlike every other vehicle on the road today that has a dedicated body-side
seal, the Wrangler does not. That means the door seal is left trying to
seal directly against painted metal instead of a proper rubber mating
surface. Because of that, it’s much harder to create a consistent seal, and
over time water finds its way in—typically along the upper door area and
down onto the floor.
So while it may seem like a worn or faulty seal, it’s actually more of a
design limitation. The seal is doing the best it can, but it doesn’t have
the right surface to seal against.
The most effective solution is to add a vehicle-specific leak fix kit that
creates that missing body-side sealing surface. Once that’s in place, it
gives the door seal something consistent to compress against and resolves
the water intrusion issue.
Below is a link to the leak fix kit that will solve your issues.
If you have any additional questions, please respond to this email or you
can call me directly to further discuss this matter.
Best regards,
Tony
