Hi Brittney,
Thanks for reaching out.
What you’re experiencing on your 2021 Gladiator—both the driver and
passenger sides getting soaked after heavy rain—is a very common issue on
the Gladiator platform.
The root cause comes down to the factory sealing design. Unlike most
vehicles on the road today, the Gladiator does not have a proper body-side
sealing surface. Instead, the factory door seals are trying to seal
directly against painted metal. Since painted metal is not a consistent
sealing surface, small gaps can develop around the upper door corners,
A-pillars, and roof transition areas, allowing water to work its way into
the cabin during heavier rain.
That’s why many owners notice water appearing on both sides of the vehicle,
even when the exact entry point isn’t obvious. The water often enters
higher up around the doors and roof area, then travels underneath the
carpet and padding before soaking the floors.
Even though it may seem like multiple leak points, it’s usually all tied
back to the same underlying issue: the lack of a proper body-side sealing
surface for the factory weatherstripping to compress against.
The most effective long-term solution is adding a factory-specific Jeep
leak fix kit with body-side weatherstripping. This creates the missing
sealing surface the factory design lacks, allowing the door and roof seals
to compress evenly and consistently. Once installed, it eliminates the gaps
and resolves the water intrusion issue at its source.
