Hi Luke,
Thanks for reaching out.
If your main goal is reducing the sound of rain and overall wind noise on
your Gladiator soft top, the same sealing issues that cause water leaks are
also usually responsible for excessive cabin noise.
Unlike most vehicles on the road today, the Gladiator does not have a
proper body-side sealing surface. Instead, the door and soft top seals are
trying to compress directly against painted metal. Since painted metal is
not a consistent sealing surface, small gaps can develop around the doors,
windshield pillars, and roof transition areas.
Even if the vehicle is not actively leaking, those tiny gaps allow outside
air, road noise, and rain noise to travel into the cabin much more
easily—especially during storms or highway driving.
Adding a factory-specific body-side weatherstripping leak fix kit helps
create the proper sealing surface the factory design lacks. Once installed,
it allows the seals to compress more evenly and consistently, which not
only helps prevent leaks but also significantly reduces wind intrusion and
rain noise inside the vehicle.
Below is a link to the leak fix kit that will help solve your issues.
