Hi Andre,

Thanks for reaching out.

What you’re describing on your 2020 JL 4-door with the Sky One-Touch roof
is a very common issue. The water running down from the roof rail area into
the interior when opening the doors or during washing is directly related
to the way these vehicles are designed.

Unlike most vehicles on the road today, the Wrangler JL does not have a
true body-side sealing surface. Instead, the door and roof seals are trying
to seal directly against painted metal. Because of that, water is able to
travel along the roof rail and upper door areas, then work its way past the
seals and into the cabin—especially when water pressure increases during
rain or washing, or when the door is opened.

The Sky One-Touch roof can make this even more noticeable because of the
additional roof and rail transition points where water can collect and move.

Even though it may seem like the leak is specifically coming from the roof
rail, the root cause is still the same: the lack of a proper body-side seal
for the factory weatherstripping to compress against.

The most effective solution is adding a factory-specific Jeep leak fix kit
with body-side weatherstripping. This creates the missing sealing surface
the JL should have had from the factory, allowing the seals to compress
evenly and consistently while preventing water from migrating into the
interior.
