2019 Jeep JL 4-Door Hardtop Leaking at Driver Door — Expert Fix

Quick answer: A 2019 Jeep JL 4-Door Hardtop leaking at the Driver Door in Heavy Rain is almost never a bad door seal - it is the missing body-side weatherstripping Jeep left off the body, so the door seal has nothing to compress against. The permanent fix is adding body-side weatherstripping for the JL; most owners install it themselves in under an hour with no special tools.

Hello Burns,

If both front doors are leaking during heavy rain and flooding the floor,
this is unfortunately a very common issue with Jeep Wranglers.

Most owners are unaware that the Wrangler does not have a proper body-side
weatherstripping from the factory. The rubber seal attached to the door
closes against painted metal instead of an actual body seal, which allows
water to work its way inside during heavy rain and end up soaking the
carpets and floorboards.

This is especially common around the front doors and footwell areas. Adding
a proper body-side weatherstripping kit seals that gap and prevents water
from entering the cabin.

Here is the link to the specific kit that will solve your issues.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss this
further.
