Hello,
Thanks for the detailed explanation—what you’re describing is actually a
very common scenario with Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators, especially on
angled driveways or when the vehicle is parked slightly off level during
rain.
When the Jeep is sitting at an angle, water that enters through the door
area or body gaps will naturally travel and collect on the lower side of
the cabin, which is often the passenger side in your situation. Pulling the
mats helps protect them, but it doesn’t address the entry point of the
water.
The underlying issue is the same across these vehicles: Jeep did not
include body-side (inside) weatherstripping from the factory, so the door
seals are closing against bare metal. Under certain conditions—rain, wash
water, or vehicle angle—this allows water to enter and migrate into the
floor area.
The most effective and permanent fix is to install the missing body-side
weatherstripping. This creates the proper sealing surface the door should
be closing against and prevents water from entering in the first place,
regardless of parking angle or weather conditions.
I’ll include a link to the exact weatherstripping kit designed for your
Jeep that will resolve this issue once installed.
